Care spared wrangled hair
Over-sized banyan, style, not to care
Pants tucked and tied round waist
Featured pauper, displaying hasty face
Skeletal limbs, mother couldn't care
How he looked, she wouldn't compare
Sharp eyes and ears, ever on alert
Scanned around for anything worth
Beside mother, clung on like a bear cub
Ready to take command, by the familiar rub
Barely seen the world plays the role of dad
Boy, you, inadvertently derived in me, a sob
