A letter to sister

I lay in Iran
My body is whipped by the winds and the dunes
I am alone
Thirsty
My lips dry
I am old
I am old
I am old
I recall history meeting myths
I was in between
Zoroaster’s sperm is in me
Supposed to be born millennium after millennium
I have sisters
I have many sisters scattered in168 countries
Round the world
In continents
My largest sister is in Canada
We have sisterly convent
Ramsar
We are estranged
I am dying
Thirsty
Lonely
In the wind
I’m lonely
Under dunes
Oh sister
Queen Maud Gulf
Where are you?

Your sister,
Hamun
