Leslie Alexis - Englyn Milwr – Tales of Fred

2014-06-11 9

I lay my head on the bed,
Remembering what I read,
In the book called, “Tales of Fred.”

Fred’s life was not very dull,
Though Fred was a mere numbskull.
Fred was wise as a seagull.

Fred thought that under the sky,
He was best of all to die.
Fred was stuck in a big lie.

Fred was a special human.
And Fred was used by woman,
Lost, Fred was a stupid man.

He gave to them his treasure.
Fred had wealth beyond measure;
Fred lost it all, for pleasure.

Quickies are never enough.
With his weak will, their small bluff,
They walked away with Fred’s stuff.

Fred sits alone, a miser,
Experience made him wiser,
He watches out for Delilah.
