Erin Worthmen - You're Cold but You Scorched my Soul

2014-06-11 6

You said you'd love me forever and I believed you.
But the pain in my heart has scorched my soul.

I wish I was dead, I want to sleep forever.
Where did it all go, I can smile never.

Tears swell and fill my eyes.
My heart hurts and my head spins from all the lies.

Was it all just a dream, was it all fake?
You said 'I do', you promised, there was family and a wedding cake.

I'm alone again, I'm crushed, I'm dead inside.
Your with someone new, someone else occupies your mind.

I fight back the pain, I try to catch my breath.
But you said, I was there, you vowed, until death.

I gave you my heart, my life, my soul.
You lined your pockets with my ignorance, you're cold.
