Lonely roads and lonely poems
have a lot in common with me
Never seems that what’s perceived
shall ever come to be
Whistle stops along my way
Familiar faces seen
Nothing mattered yesterday
Tomorrow is just a dream
This narrow road just got rough
Dark trees are leaning in
The way ahead so painfully tough
since my wandering began
Why did I wander from my path
My eyes so completely blinded
Nothing ever seems to last
when hearts are left divided
A sound path I left behind
benign of any fears
A lonely heart, trapped, alas
trapped within my guilty tears
Suckled to a binding Truth
Bound until my death
Bound to see this journey through
until my dying breath
How do I find that halfway point
When the end is not in sight
And in grace, I not disappoint
the victim in this plight
A fog bank now blinds my path
A veil before my stead
Still, in darkness, True Love reigns
and faithfully grades the road I’ve tread
