what he does he does for them
rules followed to a T
others more worried how they look
than being understood clearly
as I watch I remember
his B-ball patched jeans
though today not his best color
his reason more beautiful
than anyone could imagine
I've seen how he is to others
how he treats the weak
despite efforts to change him
he doesn't stray from how he leads
consistent and strong
but what changes in me when he passes near
my power of speech reduced to a whisper
and what he does he does so well
he is all I can feel or hear
