devon da poet - Sole survivor

2014-06-11 13

I've been through the desert and the snow.
The famine times and the drought I've overcame.
I've seen pass the torturous phases, and I've sojourned places too scary to visit.
Elementary was happy days because then I knew not what hardship was.
But my smiles were never exhausted through the dark ages.
I've battled the tempestuous waves and the rocky days.
The wiles and deceits were nothing but preparation and wisdom.
Life has many obstacles but only the brave is brave enough to triumph.
Like Benson Idahosa there’s a fire burning in my bones.
I have a spirit quickening my mind and a heart that won’t beat cold.
How do you move from Joe blow, john Dore into greatness?
I’m a sole survivor!
Like an eagle I've learnt how to fend on my own.
I’m an ancient samurai, for I presently walk alone without fear.
Like the sun solely roams the sky I walk through life’s path.
To keep my head above the waters is no easy endeavor, but I’m stronger than before.
Though my breath is grasping, I’m not out of oxygen.
Though my eyes are dimming I can see pass the horizon.
Every time I’m shoved, I push a bit harder.
For I’m not a quitter, I’m a sole survivor.
