It's a country ripped apart by violence.
It's been that way since Muslim Seleka rebels seized power in 2013 in the mostly Christian Central African Republic.
While the Seleka left power in January, it's failed to stop the bloodshed.
Now tentative steps to disarm, with the government offering a voluntary disarmament.
Prime Minister Andre Nzapayeke sounded an upbeat note.

The hope is for all sides to disarm.
