A heavily armed man wearing a bulletproof vest and a gas mask was shot dead on June 6, after attempting to carry out a full frontal assault on the Forsyth County Courthouse in Cumming, Georgia. The suspect, Dennis Marx, was reportedly carrying explosives, an assault rifle, and homemade grenades when he was stopped outside the courthouse by a deputy, who was injured during a shootout with the gunman.
According to a local news report, Marx was due in court Friday for a hearing on drugs and weapons charges.
These eye-witness videos, filmed across the street from the courthouse, capture the sound of gunfire and orange smoke rising from the scene. After a series of gunshots, dozens of officers appear to rush toward a silver vehicle parked at the entrance. Credit: Facebook/Eric Bowman
