Rolling Stones rock Tel Aviv in first ever Israel concert

ROUGH CUT (NO NARRATION)

The Rolling Stones performed their first ever Israeli concert Wednesday (June 4) to a packed crowd in Tel Aviv, where tens of thousands had gathered to hear the classic rock band. Israelis are accustomed to being overlooked by popular bands on world-wide tours and the arrival of the Rolling Stones band was widely anticipated. Many Israeli fans have travelled overseas in the past in order to attend their concerts. In a twist of irony for Israelis who usually travel to Europe for concerts, Austrians Michaela and Daniel said they'd done the opposite. The Rolling Stones resumed their world tour last week in Oslo, more than two months after the suicide of singer Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott. They called off their tour - 14 ON FIRE - in Australia and New Zealand in March after Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide in her Manhattan apartment. They have now rescheduled the dates and will head to Australia at the end of October.
