Three of our leading fraternities, Bollywood, cricket and politics united in a lavish ceremony, giving a royal salute to 2014 IPL champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, and team owners Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla at Eden Gardens this Tuesday! However, amid the stadium's green turf that was been deluged in a sea of purple with nearly 50,000 fans, the scenes of merriment did not match the chaos outside as 7 sports enthusiasts were accidentally injured in stampedes! Yes, trying to clamber over police barricades to sneak entry into the arena, while some fell down, others were baton charged by the vastly outnumbered security personnel out there....What a riot would have it been na? In fact, despite the entry being free, the passes distributed were far less than the demand and hence the chaos over who gets in first!
