In the early morning hours of May 13th, a ridiculously bold thief targeted a 7-Eleven store in Mount Rainier, Maryland.

It’s pretty clear he planned on taking a decent amount of merchandise, as he spent some time propping the door open. Eventually a clerk approached him to see what he was doing.

That’s when the crook hinted that he had a weapon and made it known he was intent on carrying out the crime. He reportedly demanded cash and cigarettes.

The suspect got his wish and stashed money in his pockets while walking towards the door, but right before he left the thief picked up an entire display unit holding cell phone accessories and placed it into his automobile.

The brazen crime was captured on store surveillance footage. Although the video is clear and the suspect’s vehicle can be spotted through the window, no leads have yet panned out.

Given that that robbery occurred at about 3:45 in the morning, it’s doubtful any witnesses, aside from the clerk, saw anything. Police have released the recording in the hopes that someone will recognize the culprit and phone in tips.
