Thousands of pairs of missing shoes have resurfaced in Kentucky. The Nike shoes were reportedly stolen 5 years ago.

On a recent Thursday, the Radcliff Police Department spotted the sneakers strewn about in the yard of a local home. Zetta Thompson and her daughter were the ones selling the shoes.

The women were getting rid of them for only 5 dollars per pair. According to them, they had no idea the footwear was stolen and say they purchased the shoes from another woman in Casey County.

Nike was able to confirm the shoes were stolen by checking the shoes’ shipping labels.

Thompson claimed Nike told the police the footwear had been stolen back in 2009 and that she had about 3 million dollars worth of shoes in her yard. Police have since confiscated all the pairs.

Thompson and her daughter have not been arrested or charged with any crime, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Little information has been released about the heist, but thus far it’s known the shoes were supposed to be shipped from a Nike distribution center in Tennessee to a different one in Texas at the time they went missing.
