Vienna rides Conchita wave with AIDS charity ball

The Life Ball held in Vienna is one of the most colourful events in the world and was held in Austria on May 31st.

This year's fancy dress theme was based on the Hieronymus Bosch triptych "The Garden of Earthly Delights", which features revellers stuck between hell and the garden of Eden.

However, aside from the celebrity attendance and the extravagant performances put on for the 22nd edition of the Life Ball, there is also a more serious side which is to raise money for children whose mothers have transmitted to them the HIV virus - an element which was addressed by former US president Bill Clinton.
