Since the age of three, The Honourable David C. Onley battled with polio, resulting in partial paralysis. Through extensive physical therapy, he regained the use of his hands and arms, and partial use of his legs. (David is able to walk using leg braces and canes or crutches, but he generally prefers to get around using his electric scooter.)

David has a Political Science Degree from University of Toronto. He has also written a bestselling novel "Shuttle: A Shattering Novel of Disaster."

On Sept, 5th, 2007, the Honourable David C. Onley was sworn in as the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, and is the first ever individual with a disability to hold this office.

During the conversation, The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario talked about his time in the media, as a radio host, and working with City TV. David also talked about being one of the first on aired personalities here in Canada with a visible disability, and how the media/Hollywood has changed over the years for on air personalities and actors who have disabilities; both good and bad.

The Honourable David C Onley also shared how far Ontario has come with creating accessibility for the disabled; while, also sharing how much farther our society still has to go. Plus much more.
