Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge is aiming to win a place in England's European Championship squad after another vital goal against Everton.
Sturridge headed in Chelsea's opener in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Toffees - the former Manchester City man's fourth goal in his last four league games.
He said: "I want to go to the Euros and it would be great to get selected.
"But I'm not worried about the pressure being put on me because I've been working hard doing my thing."
The 22-year-old is emerging as a serious contender to fill the void left by Wayne Rooney's suspension for the Euro 2012 group stage.
Sturridge has been one of the stars of 2011, shining in a loan spell at Bolton and emerging with credit from England's European Under-21 Championship campaign.
And he has now continued that form back at his parent club, despite missing the first three games of the season through suspension
England manager Fabio Capello has already indicated that he will use the friendly double-header against Spain and Sweden next month to blood more youngsters.
Looking ahead to next summer's finals in Poland and Ukraine, Sturridge said: "Everyone would love to get on the plane, I'm no different.
"Hopefully, in the future, it does happen because it would be great for me - it would be a dream come true."
