This is Slovakia's Stefan Zoleik, before the tumor disfigured his face.

"Everyone was turning and looking at me, it was very unpleasant. It also bothered me all the time when I moved my head."
A rare illness called Madelung disease caused fat fibers to grow uncontrollably.
And after more than 10 years of discomfort, surgery was finally scheduled.
(SOUNDBITE) (Slovak) SURGEON, IGOR HOMOLA, SAYING:
"We will reduce the skin from here to show the chin so that we model the face correctly."
After 5 hours on the operating table, doctors were pleased with the result.

"We took out about 6 kilograms of fat from the patient's face."
And Zoleik can now look in a mirror with satisfaction.
