BJP leader Smriti Irani's appointment as the new Human Resource Development Minister has sparked a row between those who think she is under-qualified for the job and those who feel it is wrong to make her qualification a political issue.
The other angle to the row is the differing versions Irani gave about her qualification in two election affidavits. In 2004, she said she was a graduate and this year, she said she was not.
But the entire row began with this tweet by Congress leader Ajay Maken: "What a Cabinet of Modi? HRD Minister (Looking after Education) Smriti Irani is not even a graduate! Look at her affidavit at ECI site pg 11."
