A seven-year-old canine named Godiva has a story that’s absolutely heartbreaking. The retriever/corgi mix previously lived a good life with a human family, but now she's left behind bars staring at the wall in a rescue facility.
Any animal lover will tell you that dogs have feelings that are easily seen just by looking into their expressive eyes. A seven-year-old canine in New York named Godiva has a story that’s absolutely heartbreaking.
The retriever/corgi mix previously lived with a human family and presumably had a good life. One imagines it filled with all the essentials – a bed, toys and owners that took care of her. But suddenly her life changed and she ended up in a high-kill animal control facility.
Her family listed ‘allergies’ as the reason they could no longer keep her. In a stroke of luck, she was removed from the kill shelter and taken into a foster home.
However the caregiver wasn't able to house her for long so she was transferred to a boarding facility in Long Island. Godiva is now right back to being alone inside a locked kennel.
Her daily hobby seems to be staring at a blank, white wall. The lonely pooch appears depressed and with no home and loving family in sight.
No matter how many walks she gets, Godiva knows she’s going right back in her cage. The hope is that her story will be shared on social media so Godiva will once again have a real home, one where she’ll happily live for the rest of her life.
