On June 1st, Fabien Cousteau, grandson of legendary sea explorer Jacques Cousteau, will plunge underwater for 31-days.
It marks the 50th anniversary of Jacques Cousteau's Conshelf Two mission, where a team of explorers spent an unprecedented 30 days in an underwater habitat.

"Mission 31 is an epic 31-day mission where I'm going to be taking a group of six people to live and work underwater in the world's only undersea marine laboratory for 31 days."
Cousteau says spending time underwater in close-quarters with others teaches important lessons on land, and in space.

"How do we react in a small enclosed environment for 31 days with regard to five of your newest best friends, and what does that mean for space exploration, for colonization of Mars, and all of those other things, or the future of underwater habitats?"
