An Italian photojournalist and his Russian interpreter have been killed in eastern Ukraine while covering fighting between government forces and pro-Russia insurgents.
30 year old Andrea Ronchelli and 60 year old Andrey Mironov died from mortar fire after they were shot at near the pro-Russian stronghold of Sloviansk.
Ronchelli was the founder of the photo agency Cesura.
French photographer, William Roguelon, was also injured and said they had gone to visit a neighbourhood where there had been a bombing when they had come under fire. They had jumped in a ditch to protect themselves and he had escaped the worst.
Ronchelli is the first foreign journalist to die in Ukraine since clashes began following the overthrow of President Yanukovych.
