The world is watching as Ukrainians head to the polls on Sunday to vote in the presidential elections, and the atmosphere in the East remains tense.
The Ukrainian authorities announced that the electronic voting system has been hacked and won’t be restored before the vote and no election will be held in the break-away region of Crimea, whilst European election monitors have pulled out of Donetsk for their own safety.
The US has threatened further sanctions on Russia if it disrupts the elections, while President Putin has vowed to respect the outcome.
Exit polls are expected at 5pm GMT, with the hope that the results will put an end to uncertainty in the country.
