Bill Miller, from Texas, is one man who isn’t shy about his beliefs pertaining to Jesus. In his new book, he makes it very clear that he believes Jesus would have enjoyed a good beer from time to time.
The question of ‘What would Jesus do’ is one that you’re bound to get varying answers to depending on who you ask. Bill Miller, is one man who isn’t shy about his beliefs. He’s a writer, bar owner and a priest.
Father Bill has just released a book titled, ‘The Beer Drinker’s Guide to God’. In the book, he makes it very clear that he believes Jesus would have enjoyed a good beer from time to time.
"If Jesus had lived in Texas where I am from or in Hawaii where I live now, rather than Palestine, I'm pretty sure he would have
turned that water into beer." [Bill Miller]
The so-called guide features comical essays including ‘What Would Jesus Drink?’ ‘Chicken Soup for the Hooters Girl’s Soul’ and ‘Brewed Over Me and Distill Me’.
In Miller’s opinion, the fact that Jesus drank occasionally despite constant criticism from religious leaders, shows that there’s nothing wrong with drinking in today’s society, but as in the early days moderation is the key word.
When Miller is not at his church in Kauai, he’s at his bar Padres in Marfa, Texas. He claims he’s witnessed firsthand how bar room beer can bring people together in the name of Jesus.
