I can’t thank these old jazz friends enough to make these videos available to me for posting on Youtube and on Dailymotion.
These clips were shot in 1986 ( where does time go?) in Santa Ana, California in a place called Crazy Horse Saloon.
The film’s opening tune came from a band from Argentina who play some darn hot classic jazz. No ifs about that. Leader and clarinettist Ernesto “Cachi” Carrizo plays in a style reminiscent of Johnny Dodds and I hear influences of Sidney Bechet in his playing as well.
Usually I don’t use tunes with general announcement titles, but since I’m excited about their music, the heck with that principle.
The other members of this wonderful band from Buenos Aires are Jose “Dickie” Canci cornet, Jorge Palmieri trombone, Manual Fraga piano, Hector Garcia tuba, Guillermo “Yimo” Riportella banjo and Jose “Pepe” Bernardez drums
