Dubai and the wider UAE regions have been for some time committed and dedicated to unveiling some of the worlds best and most unique creations and works of art. This week in the middle of the deserts of Dubai the largest picture ever created of the late Shaikh Zayed was unveiled for the world to see. He is very much considered the father of the UAE nation and so this portrait was a very poignant tribute.

Renowned artist and Canadian University of Dubai lecturer Sylvain Tremblay created the 12m x 10m picture in the early hours of the morning on the brisk of scorching sunset and although wind affected the original plans to unveil the art from on top of a hot air balloon -- it did not affect the stunning results that were decided to be unveiled from the ground instead... not taking away any of the sentiments for the art.

"I feel very honoured to have been able to do this and I am absolutely delighted with the result" he said.

"The wind made it tough and I had to finish a lot quicker than expected, but I had so many supporters and students and they helped me finish it. It's been a real labor of love!"

The general public's first opportunity to see the artwork will be at Liwa's Art Hub in Abu Dhabi later this month. The Hub sits at the base of an 80m high sand dune on which the picture will be displayed.
