News choppers hover over the Los Angeles home of actor Michael Jace.
The 48-year-old was arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with the shooting death of his wife, April.
Jace is best known for his roles in the TV series "The Shield" and "Southland".
Local media say police responded to reports from neighbors of gunfire at the house late Monday night.
Jace was detained and questioned by police.
He was placed under arrest several hours later.
First responders reportedly found his wife dead at the scene with gunshot wounds to her body.
Police say Jace is the only person detained over the shooting and that he's cooperating with their investigation.
