A Cannes event celebrating women in film was attended by some of the industry's top female stars.
Oscar-winner Lupita N'yongo was joined by the likes of Naomi Watts at this year's 'Women in Film' event.
SOUNDBITE (English) Actor, Naomi Watts, saying:
"Evenings like this evening, it's fantastic because it does highlight that women do need to be celebrated in film especially but the very fact that there is such an event shows that there is a big gaping hole.
But "The Social Network" actress Rooney Mara questioned some of the roles available to women.

"It can be challenging to be able to find parts as interesting and dynamic as they are for guys. Sometimes I read a great script and would love to be a part of it but the female part is just an accessory to the guy and I wish there were more parts that I read for men but for women."
