A Taiwanese lawyer who was caught by her maid having an affair now faces up to seven years in prison after she tried to frame the maid in order to keep the relationship a secret.
Mrs. Chuang was accused by her ex-husband of having an affairs with her driver, Mr. Yu, four years ago. This meant they had to either serve a four-month prison sentence or pay a fine of NT$120,000 (US$3,977).
Things were made worse when the affair was confirmed by Mrs. Chuang's maid, who caught her in the act. Chuang denied the accusation and falsely accused the maid for stealing her jewelry and money.
After she was found out, Chuang was charged with making malicious and false accusations by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office, and now faces a jail sentence of seven years.
