Islamist militants have released a video, purporting to show some of the Nigerian schoolgirls whose abduction has prompted an international outcry.

Rebel group Boko Haram seized over 200 girls from a secondary school in northeast Nigeria a month ago.Around 130 girls are seen, all wearing full veils and praying.

They have all converted to Islam according to Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau who says on the video that they will be held until jailed militants are set free. Nigeria has reportedly ruled out releasing members of the rebel group.

France, Britain, the US and other countries have offered help in finding the girls which Boko Haram has previously threatened to ‘sell’.
