A worker was killed on Thursday after being electrocuted at a stadium in Brazil, becoming the eighth person to die during construction work on the 12 venues for the upcoming World Cup, according to a Reuters report.
A 32-year-old male worker died at the new Arena Pantanal stadium in Cuiaba while working on level 20 to install communications equipment.
He was hit by an electrical discharge and died of cardiorespiratory arrest.
He became the eighth worker to die since work began on the World Cup venues, with one death at the Brasilia stadium.
Another three at the stadium site in Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state.
While three more workers have died at the Arena Corinthians, two of them after the collapse of a crane.
Several of the 12 stadiums have missed their end of year deadline and are being delivered to FIFA at the last minute.
