One of Amsterdam's most famous modern-day residents, Dutch King Willem-Alexander paid tribute to another famous Amsterdam resident by turning out to the premiere of a new play about Anne Frank - the ill-fated Jewish girl who wrote diaries about her life in hiding from the Nazis during World War 2.

According to the producer of 'Anne', Robin de Levita, audiences will see a different side to the teenager.

SOUNDBITE 'Anne' producer, Robin de Levita, saying (English)

"First of all it's a new play, for the first time it's based on all the works of Anne Frank, so we had the ability to make a new play based on everything she wrote."

The producers behind "Anne" are already planning to introduce a multilingual translation system so tourists can enjoy the play, before hopefully taking the production on a world tour.
