Willie Creager & His Orchestra - Boogie Boo Boo

Unfortunately very little biographical is information is known about this bandleader and composer (several songs were (co-)written by him, including the one being presented in this video). It should be noted that Willie Creager also was one of the aliases used by Adrian Schubert, who actually rather was a director than a real bandleader (every record the latter made came out under another band name; many of the same individual players were hired for some of these sessions as well, and to make confusion even worse, many of these records were also issued under other pseudonyms, a common practice in the 20s-early 30s). However, this video presents one of the authentic ones, since it is featuring one of his compositions. Moreover, Mr. Creager's family most kindly provided me with precious photos from their private archives. Thanks to those valuable photographs, I could also definitively identify Willie Creager's tiny portrait on the poor sheet music reproduction I had. This wonderful song was recorded in 1929. Surprisingly, in his discography, Rust pretends this recording was rejected, which obviously is an error. The vocalist is being credited "Jerry White". I could never actually determine whether a real Jerry White existed, since on several discs, this vocalist very much sounds like Frank Munn, whereas on this side the voice timbre is very similar to Frank Luther's.
