The best Teeth whitening procedure is most effective as a combination of one in-office power bleach session plus a series of dentist-supervised at-home treatments, which will last one to two weeks. At Cosmetic Dentists of Houston, we customize our teeth whitening procedures to fit your individual needs.

Clinical Evaluation And Consultation
During your consultation, Dr. Canto will perform a thorough evaluation of your teeth. This evaluation will help her determine the best teeth whitening procedures for you.
In-Office Power Bleaching
This method usually only requires one two-hour office visit, which can be combined with at-home whitening treatments to give the best result. Your gums are protected while delivering a highly concentrated peroxide based bleach that can only be dispensed in the dental office.
For patients with deeply discolored, dark yellow or even tetracycline stained teeth the protocol of two in office power bleaching sessions combined with at home whitening may be recommended. Treatment recommendations are always customized for each patient for best results. During this visit, we will also take impressions of your teeth to provide you with custom-made trays to use at home.
Dentist-Supervised In-Home Treatments
This method can be used on their own or to boost your in-office power bleaching treatments. During your office visit, Dr. Canto will take impressions of your teeth to create custom-made trays, which are fabricated for the most comfortable and effective fit. Then we provide you with a stable peroxide solution and your custom-designed whitening trays for you to wear at home for as little as one hour a day over a two-week period.
Sensitive Teeth? No Problem:
At Cosmetic Dentists of Houston, we offer several procedures and products to help reduce the pain of sensitive teeth and to make your professional teeth whitening procedure more comfortable:
• Specially formulated 3M Toothpaste for you to use prior to teeth whitening
• Gluma Desensitizing Gel which gets painted on each tooth
• Laser Therapy, a quick and effective desensitizing procedure applying low-level energy to the exposed root surface prior to the power bleaching session
• We also use several fluorides or desensitizing gels. These are placed in the bleaching trays during treatment to prevent or help with any existing sensitivities for a beautiful, bright and pain-free smile!
