An unusual photo is currently making the rounds on social media. It features a frog, seemingly resting comfortably inside a fish’s mouth.

Angus James is responsible for catching the Jungle Perch. On a leisurely day of fishing in North Queensland, Australia, James reeled in the fish and quickly went to work unhooking it.

Once the lure was out of the fish’s mouth, James found himself staring into the eyes of a little green tree frog.

Although it may have been an odd sight, frogs can actually survive for short periods of time inside an animal’s mouth or even if they’re swallowed whole, so long as they don’t suffocate.

At first, James wasn’t quite sure what he was looking at.

He thought maybe some grass had somehow got lodged in the fish’s mouth, but then he saw the two tiny eyes blink. That’s when he decided to whip his camera out and snap a photo.

He caught the bizarre scene at the perfect moment, because right after the camera button was pushed, the frog realized it had the chance to flee and that’s exactly what it did, jumping out of the fish’s gaping mouth.
