If going scuba diving isn’t your thing, or is just not feasible, take comfort in knowing you can still enjoy up close and personal views of marine life without even being near the water.
GoPro released a video on their YouTube channel showing a diver touching and getting insanely close to seals under the water's surface. Of course, the diver was equipped with a GoPro camera.
The remarkably clear visuals show the grey seals happily interacting with the human. At one point, one creature even allowed the diver to scratch its belly.
According to the BBC, grey seals are the largest breeding seals in the UK. This particular seal species can be found in other locations including Europe, North America, and Russia.
The appropriately named grey seal also sports dark spots on their bodies. The GoPro clip serves as a rare example of human seal interaction.
In this case, the featured seals are young pups whose curiosity often takes over. As they get older, they'll most likely avoid people at all costs. The footage was captured in 2013 near the Farne Islands off the Northumberland coast, UK.
