High-ups discussing Taliban talks and terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is presiding over a high-level meeting to review some important matters of the national security here in Islamabad today (Monday).

The meeting is being attended by Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, ISI chief Lt. Gen. Zaheer-ul-Islam, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi and others.

Sources said the high-ups will discuss recent wave of terrorism in the backdrops of ongoing dialogue process with Taliban militants.

The meeting will also review progress in the peace talks and conditions set by the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for extension in ceasefire.

Chaudhry Nisar briefed the meeting over the peace talks.
