http://www.onecirclefarms.com - Our oceans are plagued with pollution that comes from oil spills, incessant dumping of trash, septic tanks, motor vehicle engine waste, and runoffs. Worse, it has a silent killer. It is overfishing, commercial fishing technologies, and trolling. Right now, more than 75 % of all commercially caught fish are either threatened or endangered. Worse, over 90% of our largest fish have already been killed off. In reality our seas are more like huge deserts with many small oasis of fish. If we keep the same status quo, there may not be any fish for us to catch in the sea in 40 years, according to marine scientists. In the book, The Second Agricultural Revolution: Reclaiming the future of our food with Aquaponic Gardening, Ako Kitissou, the founder of One Circle Farms and One Circle Gardens, explains how the present disaster of our over-fished oceans and polluted land began. He talks about the state of the damage today, the impact on our food; and offers solutions and activities that we can all partake in to make a difference.
