In search of a company logo? Need some design done? Meet Scotty, the new graphic designer at Carolina Professional Printers. Although we are primarily a print shop, he is our new addition to the graphic arts department for logo and image creation.
Scotty states that,
"...flat paper has no need for flat images. Page layouts are easy, and everybody does it. Logo work still baffles me as what is the standard of being acceptable. Some (designers) arrange a font, make it bigger or move it around, and there's your logo. That's not design. It's typing... and it's still flat looking to me. It's just type. Placement, depth, color and creativity, that's what should be in a design. Don't offer options to a customer...simply ask them what they would like to see, and then make it. If they don't like it, then you weren't paying attention. Your logo is your brand. Every successful company has one.... but not everybody has a good one. Make it pop."
A proficient video editor, and design artist with an eye for the unthinkable, Scotty is able to create/design art or logos in stunning hi-res 3D allowing him to change every aspect and look to suite the customers desire, thus giving him an edge over other designers. He believes that in the quickly changing world of printing, the tactic of design must keep pace with technical evolution.
