The duke and duchess of Cambridge tour the Blue Mountains as part of the second leg of their trip Down Under.
The British royals took in the sights of the Blue Mountains, near Sydney, where there were devastating bush fires last October.
They met families whose homes had been burnt to the ground and members of emergency services.
Will and Kate were also greeted by thousands of well-wishers at Echo Point, the famous Three Sisters rock formation.
The duchess, who was wearing a Diane von Furstenburg wrap dress and wedges, was welcomed by cheers as she and her husband walked to a platform to take in the view of the Blue Mountains.
Later they watched some students on an adventure training course abseiling down the rock face. William stood dangerously close to the ledge, peering down to the valley below.
He then went on to meet Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott in Sydney.
