In this Java Game Applet tutorial we will use a boolean value from our item class to see if we need to create a new random item within our game's item array. We will set up a boolean value to be false, then we will set it to true if there is a collision, or if the item has reached the left side of our applet. Within our game loop we will check if the boolean value is true or false, if it is true, then we will create a new random object in that position of the item array.
