Sarah and Greg Lindsay were recently reunited with a cherished wedding ring that was lost at Ellwood Beach two years ago.

After a certain period of time, most people start to accept lost items will never be returned. Such was the case for a couple in California, Sarah and Greg Lindsay, who lost a cherished wedding ring at Ellwood Beach two years ago.

It was then that Greg’s ring somehow slipped off his finger and landed in the ocean while he was playing football. Unfortunately he didn’t notice it was gone until later.

Greg remarked ‘I thought it was somewhere in the Pacific. There's no way I thought after losing it, there's no way it would come back on shore.’

"Tide never took it away and a woman was walking by. She found it in the sand and then she posted a picture of it on Facebook. Thousands of people reposted it. It only took four days." [ABC News]

Jenn Birchim is responsible for finding the ring. At first she didn’t think much of it. In fact, she actually thought it was a bottle cap, but a close inspection revealed it was an engraved piece of jewelry.

Birchim read the inscription which noted ‘My Love, My Life, My Lobster’ and knew the ring was special to someone out there.

Greg says the act was so kind, it ‘restored his faith in humanity’.
