Cops sometimes have to use creative means in order to catch a potentially dangerous perpetrator. In one bizarre example, two officers, one of whom is a man, in Pulaski Township, Pennsylvania dressed up as Amish women in an effort to catch a suspect who was going around allegedly exposing himself to Amish children in January of this year.

Law enforcement decided to play dress up when heavy patrols failed to catch the man in the act. That’s when Sgt. Chad Adams started asking parents if he could borrow some of their attire.

The concerned moms handed over bonnets, dresses, shawls and aprons to assist in the investigation. Said Adams ‘I didn’t care what anyone else thought. I felt this guy was pretty much a predator who was preying on kids who had no means of communication. Basically, it’s all Amish population through there.’

Dressed as Amish moms, both he and the female officer wore the outfits with all their police equipment underneath. They then walked in freezing temperatures along the road where the man had exposed himself to kids, hoping he would approach them.

The officers believe the suspect is a Mercer County resident who was placed on a minimum 3 month house arrest in late January of this year for committing similar exposing acts in 2013, and the incidents stopped after his sentencing. While the cops weren’t able to catch him red-handed, their efforts prove they would go to any lengths to keep their community safe.
