The documentary " Twelve Nights", which describes the plight of stray dogs in the public shelters in Taiwan has raised raised public awareness for homeless animals and has increased the animal adoption rate. At a Tainan shelter, 206 stray dogs and cats were adopted a mere two weeks after the movie was released, 60% more than in the previous month. Producer Giddens Ko said he hopes the idea of "adoption, not abandonment" will continue to influence people who watched the documentary.
