A successful eye surgeon in Chicago, Robert Weiss, has been accused of videotaping female employees at two optical offices without their knowledge or consent.
One of those women later discovered the camera. The 27-year-old victim spotted what appeared to be a camera lens inside a toilet tank at her workplace, Chicago Eye Institute.
Curious, she probed around and eventually opened the tank to find a fully intact camera which was being held in place by a piece of Velcro. The police were soon contacted and upon investigation, they discovered the micro disk contained footage of two women in a locker room that is located in another one of Weiss’ offices.
They also found recordings of yet another female victim which was filmed from the ladies bathroom of Chicago Eye Institute. All four women were showed the videos and identified themselves as the subjects.
Weiss has been arrested and is now facing a charge of felony unauthorized videotaping. Weiss's attorney, Aaron Goldstein says the accused has never been arrested before and is ‘in no way a threat’.
A Chicago Eye Institute representative would not comment on Weiss’ employment but did say an internal investigation would be launched.
