Vandals in San Francisco are tipping over smart car models. The act of turning over the vehicle is being referred to as ‘car tipping’, taken from the age-old stunt of cow tipping.
Smart cars have many advantages including being eco-friendly and super gas savers. However there is one unique problem with them, as they’re serving as a target for vandals.
The troublemakers are basically tipping over the models. The act of turning over the vehicle is being referred to as ‘car tipping’, taken from the age-old stunt of cow tipping.
The vehicular version seems to be a real problem in San Francisco. Recently, three smart cars were targeted in the area between a Sunday night and early Monday morning.
The suspects behind the occurrences seemingly used two methods in their approach. They either completely tipped the car over or stood it up on its hind side.
A man who witnessed the vandals, Brandon Michael said he saw a group of about 8 people approaching one of the autos. He commented ‘I thought they looked like they were up to no good and then sure enough they walk up to this Smart car right here, all huddle around it and just lift it up and set it on its hind legs -- that's pretty much it’.
Local police are currently investigating the incidents but thus far, no arrests have been made.
