Two men were injured in a knife attack that took place following an argument in New York's Port Authority bus terminal at around 8:50 p.m. on New Years Eve.

An argument broke out in the terminal's bathroom between the suspect and a group of four men who were headed to New Year's Eve festivities, according to a New York Daily news report. As the group left the bathroom, they were pursued by the suspect, who attacked two of the men, aged 61 and 47, with a box cutter near the main ticket counter.

One sustained a knife wound to the back of his head, and the other was slashed in the stomach. Both were sent to Roosevelt Hospital for non-critical injuries.

The suspect fled the scene, and Port Authority was placed on a lockdown. An investigation continued after the terminal was reopened the same night.

Joseph Pentangelo, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York, said that the injuries were described as "lacerations rather stabs" in a New York Times report.

Officials described the suspect as a Latino man, about 5-foot-6 and that he was wearing black pants and a black hat.
