Havahart's Spray Away combines a sprinkler attached to a tank to hold its water supply (no need to connect it to a hose) with an infrared motion detector that activates it whenever there is 'activity' in the monitored area. All of the above being powered off a battery charged through a little solar panel. The spray bursts appear to be loud and powerful enough to scare way anything from rabbit to a deer. The motion detector operating in the infrared spectrum guarantees that Spray Away will operate at night as well as during the day but I found that sometimes, especially on sunny October days when the Sun is low, even the passage of a cloud could trigger an outburst.
