An elderly woman plunged her sedan off a hospital parking structure in Thailand on Tuesday (December 3). Both she and her husband survived with injuries.
Songsak Thitaram, 78, and Kannika Thitaram, 79, were returning home after seeing the dentist at the Nonthavej hospital in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
The wife, who was the driver, intended to shift the car's gear from to park to drive, but mistakenly shifted the stick to reverse. She then stepped on the accelerator, causing the car to speed backwards through barriers into a three-story fall off the parking structure.
Hospital staff pulled out the couple trapped in the wrecked car. The husband sustained minor injuries to his neck and body, but the wife has been hospitalised for broken ribs and internal bleeding.
