A 911 operator in Georgia helped to save her own father’s life. What makes the case so amazing is that Crystal Morrow had just started her job as an emergency dispatcher.

To be precise, the call regarding her dad came in during her first day on the job, only four hours into her shift. According to the caller, Morrow’s father was incoherent, having gone into diabetic shock.

The official tape of the call was recently released.

Operator: "I will get the paramedics started. Are you with him now?"
Caller: "Yes I am."
Operator: "And is he awake?"
Caller: "Yes he is."
Operator: "I am sending the paramedics to help you now. Stay on the line and I will tell you exactly what to do next."

Morrow reflected on the ordeal commenting "I heard her voice, and I saw her name pop up on the screen. I was like, ‘Wait. This is my aunt. I did freeze. Like I really, my hands froze over the keyboard but I knew I had to go ahead and get it in."

She claims to have relied on her thorough training to get her through the call calmly and professionally. Fortunately Morrow's father received treatment and survived.
