Pakistan blast: 12 killed in Kohat

A bomb blast killed at least 12 people and wounded 14 others in Kohat, Pakistan, on Sunday (February 23).

According to the Express Tribune, the bomb was remotely detonated near the crowded main gate of a police building on Hangu Road near Peshawar Chowk at around 1:30 pm.

Five kilograms of explosives were used in the blast and were concealed in a wooden crate placed on the roadside, Dawan.com reported. The device was detonated as a van carrying six passengers reached the area.

The Express Tribune reported that twelve people, including all six on board the van were killed on the spot. A woman and a child were among the fatalities. Fourteen others were wounded by the blast.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
